Roots Notes: The Podcast Celebrating Grassroots Music and Its Heroes

Last month saw the launch of Roots Notes, a new podcast that champions grassroots music, independent venues and the incredible people who make it all happen.

Join Rach Williams, as she speaks to voices from all corners of the music industry, diving into their thoughts on local music scenes, how these scenes shape the identity of their cities, and the powerful role music plays in their lives and careers

In the first episode she speaks with Jeff Thompson, co-founder of Un-Convention, a global network and development agency, member of the Greater Manchester Music Commission, and lecturer at BIMM University. They chat about Un-Convention, Swifties, how the internet has transformed the music industry, the benefits of grassroots venues in Manchester, the city’s vibrant music scene and the positive impact these spaces have on the local community.

Then for episodes two to five, Rach heads stateside and chats to Los Angeles based singer-songwriter Jean-Luc Eldenwood, Black Flag session drummer Chris Geller, programmer and manager Eden and neo-psychedelic LA based artist, Vinyl Williams. Tune in now!
