Manchester wins bid to host WOMEX

WOMEX is the most culturally diverse music gathering in the world and the biggest conference of the global music scene – and it’s coming to Manchester!

Each year, the Worldwide Music Expo takes place in a different European city and features a huge trade fair, talks, films and showcase concerts.

With Manchester Music City at its helm, and with English Folk Expo as an event delivery partner and Brighter Sound delivering the legacy programme, hosting WOMEX will put Manchester firmly front and centre of the international music scene.

Its musical spectrum covers everything from the most traditional of music forms to the latest local underground, embracing folk, roots, jazz and local cultures.

The convention spans city centre venues, with Manchester Central hosting the main conference and trade fair. Live music showcases will be held at Aviva Studios, Albert Hall, Bridgewater Hall, and O2 Ritz, alongside an international film program at HOME.
